»It was on my 3rd birthday. Everyone was gathered in the kitchen. The grown-ups were drinking wine. My parents wanted to show the guests our cellar. I stayed alone in the kitchen, climbed up on the table and tried the wine in the glasses. The Spätlese was wonderfully sweet and I just kept on sipping happily.«

What moved me to a career in wine:
»Well, I wasn’t quite good enough as a race car driver, so I decided to take a whirl at the family wine business.« (grinning)

»My parents are my biggest heroes. So it’s always been very obvious to me that we would follow after them in running the wine estate.«
